CAT 2024: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata will soon release the admit cards for the Common Admission Test or CAT 2024. Once released, candidates will be able to download it from the official exam website iimcat.ac.in.

This year, the entrance test for IIMs and other business schools is scheduled for November 24. As per the official notification, admit cards for CAT 2024 will be issued on 5th November. The results of the entrance test will be announced in the second week of January.

To be eligible for the entrance test, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with 50 percent or more marks or equivalent CGPA. For SC, ST and PwD candidates, the minimum marks is 45 percent or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates appearing for the degree examination as well as those who have already appeared for the degree examination and are awaiting results can appear for the examination provisionally.

About CAT 2024 Exam Pattern

The test paper for CAT 2024 will have three sections:

Verbal Abilities and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and
Quantitative ability (QA/Quants).

The duration of the test is 120 minutes. Candidates will get 40 minutes to attempt each section. They will not be allowed to switch between sections.

CAT is conducted for admission to postgraduate and undergraduate business courses offered by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Several non-IIM institutes also use the exam in their admission processes.

To get admission in IIMs after clearing the CAT exam, candidates will have to appear for subsequent selection rounds. They can check the admission rules of various IIMs on their respective official websites.
