One person has died and two others have been injured following a fatal road accident in Staffordshire

Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision on the A34 Stone Road at around 8.15pm.

It happened at around 8.30pm when a gray BMW estate and a black Renault Clio collided on the southbound carriageway, between Trentham Gardens and Monkey Forest Island.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

“Sadly, a 21-year-old local man who was driving the BMW died at the scene. The passenger of the BMW and the driver of the Clio were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

The spokesman added: “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who was traveling between Trentham and Monkey Forest Island at around 8.15pm last night, to contact us, particularly those in who has the video recorder records. “
