Banks will be closed for four consecutive days next week for Chhath Puja: Key dates and details

As Chhat Puja approaches, banks in some states will observe back-to-back weekends leading to a four-day closure from November 7 to 10, 2024. Customers in Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi and West Bengal should prepare in advance to avoid disruption of banking services.

Four-day holiday schedule

November 7 (Thursday) – Evening Chhat Puja Argya: Banks are closed in Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand and West Bengal.

November 8 (Friday) – Morning of Chhath Puja Festival Arghya & Wangala: Banks will remain closed in Bihar, Jharkhand and Meghalaya.

November 9 (Saturday) – Second Saturday: All banks across the country will be closed as per RBI regulations.

November 10 (Sunday): Nationwide closure.
