So what are today’s Connections answers for game #511?

Drum roll please…

Touching: Touching, cute, tender, touching

I started today’s puzzle with the blue category. A lifetime ago, I spent my first year in college studying law, so when I noticed Hearing, I wasn’t fooled by the Connection Crew’s trick of muddying the waters with other sensory words like Touch and Sensation. Once I searched for more laws, inquiries, proceedings and court stood out easily.

I thought that these clues, like Touch and Feel, must have something in common with each other, but it turned out to be another dead end. Instead, “Touching” was in today’s yellow category, along with other touching adjectives like “Touching,” “Sweet,” and “Gentle.” Meanwhile, “Feeling” fell into the “green” category, along with other ways to describe speculation, such as “Guess,” “Impression,” and “Sense.”

It stayed purple as today’s pour. At first I thought this category might be some kind of intelligibility/cents pun with Money and Listening among its ranks, but the reality turned out to be much simpler.

Yesterday’s Connections Answers

Reading this in a later time zone? Here are the Connections answers for game #510, which had a difficulty rating of 3 out of 5, according to Connections Companion.

We started yesterday’s puzzle when I saw the board and the cabinet. I thought they meant the group that led to the council. It took a while to see the panel, but we got there.

From there, kitchen items with a refrigerator, a sink and a worktop popped out. For some reason I chose the chandelier over the range, which was a poor choice. They changed their places and got a yellow group.

Oops, the chandelier led me to the hoop and pin where I attached the earring. We have to get off from there.

This left us with the blue group as the last fill. I had seen the crunch, plank, and mountain climber much earlier in the puzzle, but I had no idea what the fourth exercise was called. I’m familiar with the boat pose, but never knew the name of it.
