Jason Kelsey smashed a fan’s phone after they called brother Travis a homophobic slur

Jason Kelce smashed a Penn State football fan’s phone after an apparent prankster called his brother, Travis Kelcehomophobic slur.

In the current video material shared on X (formerly Twitter) The retired Philadelphia Eagles star, who was outside Beaver Stadium in State College, Pa., during the Penn State-Ohio State game on Saturday, Nov. 2, could be seen walking while football fans surrounded him.

As the man taking the footage raised his fist at Jason, 36, and shouted his name to punch him, another man nearby yelled a homophobic slur at the Philadelphia Needles star, who had already fallen behind.

“Hey Kelsey. How do you feel about your brother dating the hell Taylor Swift?” the man asked, using an expletive, referring to Travis, who has been dating Swift, 34, since 2023.

Seconds later, Jason spun around, grabbed the man’s phone from his hands, and smashed it to the ground.

“Looked like a Pennsylvania student punched Kelsey in the face for no reason,” wrote the first user X who posted the clip. “Wild Scene in State College.”

Additional shots circulates on X showed a close-up of Jason smashing the phone on the asphalt before picking it up and walking away. The owner of the phone, who was wearing a Penn State hoodie at the time of the incident, could be seen on several videos walking close behind and appearing to record Jason before the altercation took place.

Another scene divided by Xwhich was apparently filmed after Jason smashed the man’s phone, showed a hooded Penn State fan walking through the crowd to pick up his phone from the ground. “Give me my phone bro,” he allegedly told Jason.

The NFL graduate who grabbed the device first, then stood in front of the man and said, “Now who the hell?” as other people seemed to interfere.

The incident occurred while Jason was in attendance at Beaver Stadium for an ESPN appearance College GameDay. The Ohio State Buckeyes won Saturday’s game, beating the Nittany Lions 20-13.

PEOPLE reached out to a rep for Jason and ESPN, but did not immediately hear back.
