The Pittsburgh Steelers are still actively searching for a new wide receiver.

Dianna Russini The Athletic reported that the Steelers are “still in the market for a wide receiver” ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.

That followed a botched push for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Ayuk in the offseason and another for then-Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams during the regular season. Ayuk subsequently signed a four-year contract with San Francisco, while Adams was traded to the New York Jets.

Pittsburgh is off to a strong start to the year and currently leads the AFC North with a 6-2 record. The Steelers have hit the mark with two different backs: Justin Fields and now Russell Wilson as starters.

George Pickens remains a reliable target with 35 catches for 548 yards and a touchdown, but no other player has more than 300 receiving yards and Calvin Austin is the only receiver with at least 200.

Adding another dynamic player would only help Pittsburgh’s chances for a division title, but many of the top options are already off the board. New York Jets tight end Mike Williams and New England Patriots wide receivers Kendrick Bourne and KJ Osborne could be the most intriguing possibilities.

While Pittsburgh may not be able to land a top-tier player at the deadline, adding depth at the position should still bolster the offense.
