Pennsylvania man charged with killing two people in New Jersey, including mother of his child

A 37-year-old man was charged with two murders in the village Shooting in Burlington County Earlier this week, a woman and her adult daughter were killed, officials announced Saturday.

The Burlington County District Attorney’s Office says Junior Edwards, of Landsdowne, Pennsylvania, broke into the home of Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54, and fatally shot both women.

The shooting happened in Willingboro’s Hawthorne Park neighborhood, and an initial investigation revealed that Kathryn Nunez and Edwards had an 8-year-old son who was in the home at the time of the shooting, officials said.

The child was not injured in the shooting, authorities said Saturday.

Edwards is also charged with first-degree armed home invasion endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Willingboro police were called to the first block of Harrington Circle just after 4 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a burglary and found someone had entered the home through a first-floor window, authorities said.

The women’s bodies were found in an upstairs bedroom. According to the investigation, both died at the scene.

The investigation reported that the gun, which was allegedly fired, was found near the house.

Edwards was charged Friday in Philadelphia, where he was already in custody on unrelated charges, authorities said Saturday.

Edwards’ attorney could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday.
