Biden approved the declaration of a natural disaster for the Sioux tribe on the Cheyenne River

WASHINGTON, DC (Dakota News Now) – FEMA announced Friday that federal disaster assistance is now available to the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe to help those living in areas affected by strong storms, straight-line winds and floods on July 13 and 14, 2024. .

President Joe Biden’s actions make federal funding available and include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help businesses and individuals affected.

Some private nonprofits also have co-pay funding available for emergency work and facility repairs.
