Pastor Adeboye says RCCG is building church in Kirikiri prison, shares details

  • Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has announced that the church is building a church at Kirikiri Correctional Centre, Lagos.
  • The priest said that for years the RCCG provided food to the inmates while he preached there every year until “people in power” restricted his attendance.
  • Adeboye said one of the inmates he ministered to had just become a pastor, adding that the RCCG had also renovated a chapel at the correctional center

Redemption City, Ogun StatePastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has announced that the RCCG is building a church at the Kirikiri Correctional Center in Lagos.

On the video seen Legit.ng, Pastor Adeboyewho addressed his congregation said the RCCG has been feeding inmates at Kirikiri prison for several years.

The priest added that he visited the correctional center until he was stopped by “people in power.”

“For several years, we took food to Kirikiri prison. And once a year, until the people in power forbade me to go, I used to go to Kirikiri Prison during Christmas to go and share the gospel of the Lord with them. Jesus Christ” RCCG general supervisor said

Kirikiri prison inmate becomes a pastor

Speaking further, Adeboye said that one of the inmates he preached to in prison became a pastor.

His words:

“Now one of them has become a pastor there. By the grace of God, we are already building a church there. We have already read that the chapel was renovated there. By the grace of God we have done a thing or two. But you see, the Bible says that whatever your right hand does, your left hand must not know.”

Was Pastor Adeboye telling Christians to stop paying tithes?

Meanwhile, Pastor Adeboye, on Saturday, October 5, denied claims that he advised Christians to stop paying tithes, explaining his position on the controversial issue.

Adeboye addressed the distortion of his recent comments during the Holy Spirit Church Service in October at Redemption City on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

He admitted that he had apologized for his earlier statement about tithing, which may have been misunderstood.
