Matthew Stafford’s wife admitted to being “jealous” of Taylor Swift

Matthew Stafford’s wife admitted to being “jealous” of Taylor Swift

As the NFL enters Year 2 Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Maniawith the dynamic duo getting just as much screen time as well as their own Hallmark movie, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story – not everyone is into the goings-on of the royal sports couple, from angry dads to the football-obsessed crowd and even Kelly Stafford, wife of Los Angeles Rams starting quarterback Matthew Stafford.

That’s right, in a recent interview with Fox News, Stafford discussed her previous comments about her “overdoing” the coverage of Swift and Kelsey, and admitted that she’s still a fan, but also jealous of attention the “Shake it off” singer plays every week.

“I never said I didn’t like Taylor Swift, anytime But I will say that I’m a little weary of the Chiefs’ coverage of this, in fact, the NFL’s coverage of this prospect relationship last year. And can she do anything about it? No, she can’t. You know what, it was a good business decision for the NFL, but I almost felt like it overshadowed the games, and I think that bothered me,” Stafford told Fox News.

“I was a bit jealous of the fact that they were getting so much attention and suddenly the football game was a sideshow. So yeah, maybe I let jealousy get the better of me.”

So what, you might ask, is Stafford jealous of? It’s not, of course, that Swift got the attention, since she’s not exactly a multi-platinum, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter. No, instead, she was just upset that players like her husband, who worked really hard, weren’t getting the attention they deserved.

“I thought, why did it turn out the way it did? Or why did I feel that way? And it really was. I had some jealousy issues with her suddenly being the main show in NFL football – or their relationship. And I watch my husband work and I watch all these guys in the league work. And suddenly they resemble a secondary show. So, that’s where the species came from.”

Does Swift steal the headlines and TV time every time she appears at a Chiefs game? It’s debatable, but honestly they wouldn’t have shown her if she hadn’t drawn new and additional eyeballs. In this attention-driven economy, that’s all that really matters, even if it ruffles a few feathers along the way.

Kelly and Matthew Stafford had a very nice Halloween at Taylor Swift

Although Mrs. Stafford has repeatedly criticized Swift, even if the latest example also served as a soft apology, it did not stop the entire Stafford family embarks on a full Eras Tour for their Halloween costume together.

God, if Mrs. Stafford really didn’t love Swift that much, she definitely wouldn’t have provided five different costumes in honor of the pop star, plus another, albeit weird, Kelsey costume for Matthew. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Mrs. Stafford really should bear no ill will toward the Grammy-winning singer.
