Hamilton child attack: Police seek dashcam footage after van driver grabs girl’s arm

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a man in a silver van tried to grab a young woman in Silverdale, Hamilton.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan O’Byrne said that at around 8am on Friday, November 1, police received reports that a man driving along Silverdale Road had grabbed a young girl’s arm.

“The girl was shaken but physically unharmed,” he said.

“The man was reportedly driving a silver van that was initially parked on the wrong side of the road facing Morrinsville Road.”

It is reported that members of the public were honking at the van at the time.
