The video shows a police chase in downtown Toronto

Police arrested two people in downtown Toronto Friday afternoon in connection with a carjacking investigation that led to a chase that was captured on video.

Toronto police said an automatic license plate camera alerted officers to a stolen truck in the area of Queen Street West and University Avenue around 3:15 p.m. Friday, prompting an investigation.

At one point, police said the driver of the truck crashed into the cruiser.

It appears the truck later crashed into the Little Burgundy store on Queen Street West. Video obtained by CP24 shows police cruisers boxing in the truck after the crash.

As one officer approaches the car, one person jumps out of the front passenger door and runs away.

Officers can be seen following him, including one member of the cavalry unit. “And there’s a horse,” the person filming the video can be heard saying.

Police did not say whether the officers or the two people arrested were injured.

It is not known at this time what charges are being filed.
