New York police said Zamor died of his injuries nine days after the shooting, and the case is now being treated as a homicide.

Murdered Brooklyn teen wanted to be a songwriter and was ‘very loving’

McNally, a teenager who died Oct. 25, loved to write songs and was “very loving,” his father, McNally Zamor Sr., said in an interview with New York Daily News.

“He graduated from Canarsie High School and wanted to be a songwriter,” his father told the publication, adding that he was his youngest child.

As his father reflected on his son’s death, he told the Daily News he was concerned about gun violence in the area, including Canarsie, a neighborhood in southeast Brooklyn.

“Canarsie has always been a quiet and good place to live,” said the teenager’s father. “Now it has been turned over. And the city too – now they are shooting.”

According to the newspaper, police are not sure what led to the shooting, but they are trying to find out if it may be related to a previous shooting incident.
