Detroit Lions boosted by debut of Al-Quadeen Muhammad

Some Lions fans may be focused on who the team can bring in to help them rush ahead of next Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, but head coach Dan Campbell and the Lions are focused on who they have in the building who could would help them get to the Packers. defensive end Jordan Love on Sunday.

One of those names is Al-Quadeen Muhammad, who made his debut for the Lions last week against the Titans and was named six defensive tackles by Pro Football Focus, twice as many as the next Lions defensive back (Levi Onwuzurike3).

“Man, he did some things for us,” Campbell said earlier in the week. “He was active, he played aggressively, he was physical. And so he went in there and really gave us the good work that we talked about. Now there were a few things we had to do to clear our minds with him.

“And as you mentioned, a little bit of a rush, there were about three of them there, where we’re getting a little bit better, maybe a couple of things that he’s doing, then it can help around the perimeter with (Alim McNeil) Mac and some of these things. So, it’s just little things to clean up, but I thought he came in and gave us a good job and that’s definitely something to build on.”

When asked about last week’s performance, Muhammad said he’s still knocking off some rust and expects to make an even bigger impact this week.

“You guys are going to see some great stuff from me this week,” he said.
