A white Washington woman who initially claimed she was assaulted by a teenager now finds herself on the wrong end of the law.

On Oct. 25, Jennifer Vincent called authorities to report that a teenager had pushed her at Pioneer Park in Tumwater, Wash., according to KING 5 News. But when police officers arrived on the scene, they immediately spoke to a group of teenagers who witnessed the alleged incident, and their story couldn’t have been more different from the one Vincent initially reported.

More from KING 5 News:

When officers arrived, they were contacted by a group of teenagers who told police that Vincent had been walking around the park “shouting racial slurs at him and other Hispanic people.” According to court documents, the teenager Vincent described in the call to police told officers that Vincent first went to the family taking photos for their young daughter’s quinceañera and “told them to go back to their country.”

The same teenager said Vincent eventually walked up to the group he was with and punched him in the face, “told him to go back to where he came from and he’s not allowed to be in this country,” court documents state. The teenager said Vincent then pushed him, and he responded by pushing her back, he told police.

After speaking with other witnesses who shared a similar story as a teenager, police believed they had probable cause to arrest the woman for molesting and assaulting a 14-year-old boy.

According to a report by KING 5 News, Vincent tried to resist the officers who were arresting her, even trying to pinch one of them on the leg. She also sought medical attention, although she was seen walking normally when they arrived at the scene.

Earlier this week, she was formally charged with malicious stalking, assault and resisting arrest. The harassment charge included a definition of a hate crime. Vincent’s next court appearance is scheduled for November 25.
