A drunken man lying on the street is arrested; wanted man arrested: Middleburg Heights police blotter

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio –

Public order offence: Eastland Road

A 24-year-old man from Dunbarton, New Hampshire was arrested around 6pm on October 26 after he passed out in the middle of Eastland on Sheldon Road.

Someone called the police about the man. When the police arrived, they asked him to move to the sidewalk.

The man was confused as to why the police were talking to him. He said he did nothing wrong. Police said they arrived to check on him as he was lying in the street.

When asked to give his last name, the man used letters and numbers. The police smelled alcohol and asked the man how much he had to drink. He didn’t answer.

The police advised the man to stay off the road and sent him on his way. Then he walked into the middle of Eastland and started shouting. The police put handcuffs on him.

Warrant filed: Bagley Road

A wanted 26-year-old Cleveland man was arrested around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 24 after police saw him walking on Bagley between Engle Road and Interstate 71.

The man was with two other people, a man and a woman, both from Cleveland. They were walking across Bagley at the crosswalk. The police pulled them over in the Speedway parking lot.

Police learned the man was wanted in Brunswick for a traffic violation. They met Braunschweig police in the parking lot of Bob Evans in Middleburg Heights and turned him over.

Stolen vehicles: Sprague Road & Normandie Boulevard

Three motorcycles were reported stolen around 5:00 p.m. Oct. 25 near The Islander, an apartment complex at Sprague and Normandy.

A 2008 Kawasaki ZX600 was stolen between October 23rd and 3pm on October 25th. A 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 300 and a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 300 were stolen between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on October 25.

Shoplifting: Southland Drive

On Oct. 19 at approximately 7:30 p.m., an unknown male and female stole approximately six hoodies from Marshalls, 6897 Southland.

Security video shows a man and woman walk into Marshalls around 7 p.m. They looked around the store.

About half an hour later, the woman left the store, allegedly looking for security guards. The man took sweatshirts worth $180 and left the store without paying.

The security guard recognized the couple. They used to steal from Marshall.
