New information about Adam York real crimeAn inspired full-length directorial debut was released. The Cinemaholic can reveal that Freaker will revolve around a blind teenager who joins the underworld of phone freaks in the early 2000s. He uses his unique skills to become a prolific hacker, only to end up on the FBI’s most wanted list. Principal photography on the film will take place in Toronto, Ontario from January 13 to February 14, 2025.

The film appears to be based on the life of Matthew Weigman, a notorious hacker on party phone groups who became infamous for “destroying” his opposition. Legally blind, he was introduced to party communications at age 11, reportedly becoming obsessed with them and staying on the phone for days at a time. He talked to phone hackers from all over the country and learned hacking tricks, including those used by the first phone freaks of the 1980s.

Weigman learned to imitate telephone operators, to receive telephone numbers by dial tone, and to understand the inner workings of telephone network systems and their frequencies. According to reports, he used his skills to get free services, intimidate anyone who angered him, and sexually harass women. His boldest move was to call the emergency services, especially the police, and have them raid someone’s house as a joke.

By the time he was eighteen, Weigman had faked over 60 SWAT calls. His prolific hacking habit caught the attention of a Verizon investigator, who reported his activities to the FBI. While Weigman was under investigation by the bureau, he and his network of hackers allegedly tried to intimidate and intimidate a Verizon investigator who acted as an informant and witness against him.

Weigman was eventually sentenced on June 26, 2009 to eleven years and three months in prison for conspiracy to commit battery, attempting to intimidate a witness, and unauthorized access to a secure computer. He was released early and was released on October 20, 2018.
