The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) told CBS News it is aware of the footage and is working with federal government partners to investigate further.

Darren Linville, expert on Russian disinformation and co-director of the Media Forensics Hub at Clemson University, told CBS News that the video bears striking similarities to previous videos released by the Russian influence group known as Storm-1516.

The video was posted to the anonymous X account, which has previously shared Russian disinformation, Linville said. Storm-1516 was linked to other fabricated videos, including footage that was mistakenly said to show election workers ballot tearing in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

The group also posted a video making false claims about Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Waltzaccording to researchers and officials.
