According to homicide detectives, officers discovered the body of a woman in a suite at a luxury health resort

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY (Gray News) – Police say a 33-year-old woman was found dead in a guest room at an upscale health resort in New York on Monday.

Suffolk County Police Department recognized the victim like Sabina Rosas from Brooklyn.

Homicide detectives say Rosas was found murdered at Shaw Sugi Ban’s home on Montauk Highway in Water Mill.

According to Suffolk County police, investigators determined Rosas was a “victim of abuse” after a resort employee found her body in a guest room.

Officials have identified the suspect in Rosas’ murder as 56-year-old Thomas Gannon. This was reported by the police on Wednesday Gennon was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement officials initially did not find a connection between Gannon and Rosas, but friends told WCBS he was obsessed with her as an artist.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Rosas to determine the exact cause of death.
