PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Detachment of the West Virginia State Police and the Commission on Driving While Intoxicated will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint from 6 p.m. to midnight Nov. 21 on West Virginia Route 95 in Parkersburg near the Dollar General Store.

The checkpoint may be moved to another location if the primary location becomes unsafe due to traffic congestion or if an unsafe or dangerous situation arises, state police said.

The purpose of the checkpoint is to warn and prevent impaired driving. Drivers wishing to avoid the checkpoint can use an alternative route, the police said.
