A late-night crash that claimed a life in west Seattle is under investigation

A 31-year-old man was killed Wednesday night in a crash in West Seattle, according to Seattle police.

Shortly after 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a crash involving a vehicle that collided with a parked vehicle in the 6300 block of 48th Avenue SW, police said.

Seattle police, along with paramedics, arrived a short time later and found a 31-year-old man “unresponsive in his car.”

“The man was extricated from the car and treated by paramedics,” Seattle police said in a press release. “Despite life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Police said officers then cordoned off the area so detectives from the Traffic Accident Investigation Squad investigated.

According to the police, a 31-year-old man was driving a Volvo when he crashed into a parked Ford SUV.

“This is an open and ongoing investigation and detectives will work to determine what led up to the collision,” Seattle police wrote.
