Teen’s parents who are fatally poisoned in Laos say up to 60 minutes in an exclusive interview

Parents of two Australians Tourists who died from methanol poisoning Laos put pressure on the country’s government to properly investigate death, 60 minutes Tara Brown journalist told 9News.

Biananka Jones and Holly Bowles died of methanol poisoning after a nightly Nana dormitory in Van Wang.

Brown said 9News that she believed that families were talking to her in an exclusive interview because the Laos government refused to meet them.

“I think they want to warn the community about the danger of methanol poisoning, and they want to maintain pressure on the Laos Government to fully investigate death.

“They feel that they do not have enough information to fully understand what led to their daughter’s death.”

She said that the smallest amount of methanol could be deadly.

“Two teaspoons are likely to blind you … One shot … 30 millimeters will kill you.”

Brown said that Jones’ families and Bowles have long been friends before the girls were born and relied on each other with support.

“The pain on the face crashes, these are wonderful strong people, they are worried daily, they have to continue to go … They have each other,” Brown said.

Six tourists in the hostel were killed by methanol poisoning.
