Teenagers are accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a Waverly girl

WAVERLY, Neba (Cologne). Two Waverly teenagers are in custody accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office arrested two boys, a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old, on Friday. On Tuesday, they were each charged with first-degree sexual assault.

The arrest affidavit shows the sheriff’s office was contacted by the Department of Health and Human Services last week. Deputies wrote that the 11-year-old girl told another child that she had been sexually abused by boys for the past four years.

Later on Friday, the authorities interviewed the girl. Deputies believe the girl was sexually assaulted multiple times at her home in Waverly, with the most recent attack reportedly occurring on New Year’s Eve.

The police interviewed the boys the same day and took them into custody.

Prosecutors have charged the teenagers as adults in the case, and a hearing on that motion is set for Feb. 3.
