1 dead after shooting in Oakwood Place, person of interest arrested

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (WBRC) – Birmingham police are investigating a homicide they say happened Wednesday night.

According to BPD, two people were shot during an argument in the 1700 block of Pearson Avenue. One person received non-life-threatening leg injuries.

Officials say members of the community administered first aid to the victim until rescuers arrived.

BPD says a person of interest has been taken into custody.
