I watched every episode of Hell’s Kitchen and Gordon Ramsay just made me cry the first time

So, I love Gordon Ramsaybut in recent years I appreciate it even more.

During the pandemic, I spent most of my time applying to new places and contemplating food shows that made me hungry. It eventually led me to everything Gordon Ramsay Cooking Shows, and although I love many such as his last A new level chef, or as a classic MasterChef—there’s one show that really captured my heart and that’s it Hell’s kitchen.

The Americanized version exploded and has been running for twenty-four seasons. In those binge-watching days, I watched every season Hell’s kitchen until now and since then have stayed up to date with it every year. It made me laugh, stress, and smile so many times it’s hard to count.

But for the first time, Hell’s kitchen made me cry – or rather, Gordon Ramsay, and I have to talk about it.

Let me start by saying that I have always loved Hell’s Kitchen

As I said in the introduction, Hell’s kitchen has been my favorite Ramsay show for a while, and for good reason.

This is not only because there is high competition. I love how the show has progressed so well. There are a lot of competition shows or reality shows that repeat the same thing over and over, or develop the wrong way.

For example, Love is blind evolved in a certain way but Love is blind Season 7 was a mess and less pleasant. The same goes for competition shows like Voice or American Idol; they’ve changed judges and specific aspects of the show over the years, but maybe not always for the better.

hell’s kitchen, changed things up constantly, really over the past few seasons. From this season where we focus primarily on the top chefs, to other seasons that focus on the youth, to the All-Stars seasons, it’s always changing and I love it.

The show itself stresses me out – in an entertaining way

As the show progresses, Hell’s kitchen genuinely makes me feel stressed – but in a good, entertaining way, which is why it’s such good television.

Think about one of the best hulu shows: Bear. It’s the most stressful original series on television, but you can’t help but watch it because there’s fun in that stress. It lures you in, just like Hell’s kitchen does Is Ramsay going to yell at the contestants? Is he going to throw a random salmon into the wall? Or will everything work out?

This kind of tension and tension amuses me a lot and half the time I feel giddy.

But Gordon Ramsay had a very emotional moment last season – and it made me cry for the first time

For the first time…instead of making me tense up or laugh or something, Gordon Ramsay made me cry during Hell’s Kitchen — in a good way.

Let me paint the scene. This is the fifth episode of season 23, and one of the contestants, Egypt, a banquet chef, it’s close to withdraw from the competition. why Two reasons: the blue team (his team) has actually teamed up against him and he feels some strong homesickness that truly everyone can relate to.

These people are away from their families for weeks on end and he misses his family and of course his daughter. Everyone can understand this. When he tells Ramsay, I almost expected him to just let him go, considering we’ve lost quite a few members already this season. But Ramsay takes him aside.

Ramsay actually has a heart-to-heart with Egypt away from the other contestants, where he admits he’s had those moments too – especially since Ramsay’s wife had just given birth to a newborn during filming and he might not be there with her. It kills him inside, but he pushes through it. He then goes on to tell Egypt that there is a reason why he kept him around despite his team rallying around him and that is because Ramsay believes in him and he sees things his team doesn’t.

They exchange hugs and Ramsay helps him regain his confidence and heads back to the kitchen. And that scene… just blew me away. So hard. I think it’s because while I’ve seen a kinder side of Ramsay in many of his other shows, we don’t see it in this series.

This is a serious show and always has been. It’s about who will lead Ramsay’s next restaurant, and that’s a big deal. But seeing his understanding side, his genuine connection with one of the head chefs, made me cry really hard because it just makes me realize that even the most accomplished and awarded people struggle with simple things like homesickness. It’s a moment that brings you even closer to Ramsay, and I appreciate that.

I hope we get to see more of this side of him in Hell’s Kitchen

I know we rarely get that side of Ramsay again. This show rarely tends to lean in that regard. But I don’t know – I would really like to. The series is going to continue to be broadcast within the framework TV schedule for 2024and I really think that people seeing Ramsay interact more with his contestants is a big deal.

Although obviously Gordon Ramsay isn’t always the big, bad chef – because who could be? – It is nice to see this change of opinion. And I hope it’s something we see a hell of a lot more of in the future.

For now, I’m just enjoying my little one cooking channels on YouTube while I wait for the next episode to drop and try to resist the urge to make Beef Wellington again.
