Boxing fans have told Jake Paul that he still has time to back out of his upcoming fight with Mike Tyson.

Tyson, 58, is coming out of retirement to face social media star Paul on November 15. Tyson’s last performance was a lackluster draw in an exhibition fight with a colleague boxing Legend Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, and in his last pro fight, he retired after five rounds against Kevin McBride in 2005.

The fight was met with loud criticism from fans and commentators, especially after Tyson pulled out of the original bout due to an inflamed ulcer. However, the former undisputed world champion insists he is fit and has posted numerous videos of his training sessions online.

Fans reacted by backing Tyson to challenge next month, with one user advising YouTuber– a returned boxer, that he can still preserve his dignity and get out. “jake… still time to call it off,” they commented, while another added: “Mike is literally the biggest he’s ever been at 58, and his speed and power are reminiscent of a 28-year-old’s speed and power.

“He defies the odds just like LeBron James.” British heavyweight Joe Joyce also appeared to be rooting for Tyson, declaring: “Come on Mike!!!”

Meanwhile, Paul himself responded to a video of Tyson lifting weights, noting: “Fair play Mike. You look incredible. Hulk, damn it. But I’ll still fuck you in 20 days,” he reports Mirror of the USA.

Tyson recently gave fans a sneak peek into his intense training by sharing a video of himself knocking down a sparring partner. His previous footage has only featured brief moments of action, leading to speculation among fans about his stamina.

The upcoming fight with Paul is scheduled for November 15 and will consist of eight rounds of two minutes each. Although the fight is classified as professional, they will be wearing 14-ounce gloves.

Tyson’s longtime friend and Muhammad Ali’s former manager Gene Kilroy was visibly impressed with Tyson’s performance in the gym. “This is the strongest I’ve ever seen, you’re the strongest I’ve ever seen and I’ve known you since I was 13,” he told Tyson.

“I think it’s so amazing, it’s impressed the hell out of me. Nothing impresses me.

“You know what, I’ll tell you the truth, I’m not lying. I was worried about him going here, going there, now I can sleep at night.

“It’s great. I’m proud of you Mike. I am proud of you. This is a new generation.”
