Seth Rollins was jealous of Cody Rhodes’ WWE WrestleMania 40 title

During a recent appearance on the Insight podcast, Seth Rollins recalled witnessCody Rhodes win undisputed WWE Universal Champion by Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

About Cody Rhodes winning the title: “I had a different experience watching Cody win the title. I felt joy, perhaps a little jealousy. I’ve never really been the kind of guy who gets passed the ball like that. It’s been mostly Roman for the last ten years, and then Cody comes back and he gets that treatment as well. I always felt like I wanted to be that person, and I could be that person, but it wasn’t for me in the eyes of the people who made those decisions. There was this joy and happiness that we crossed the finish line, as the saying goes, and, of course, also a little bit of professional jealousy.”

On his involvement in the careers of Rhodes and Reigns: “Look, I don’t think Roman would have gotten to where he is now without me. I think he would tell you that too. Of course Cody is coming back, there’s a reason why when he came back I was the person he was cast with. I don’t think he would be where he is if it wasn’t for me. I don’t mean this to be arrogant, but I’ve always been someone who wanted to put the industry and the company before my personal desires. It was good for me. If things were going better, if the company was doing better, and the business was generally healthier, I felt I was doing my part, even if it was a certain ensemble.”
