Police officer smashes through windscreen to save woman seconds before car ‘completely engulfed in flames’

According to the police, a 22-year-old woman was taken to the nearest hospital with minor injuries

Dashcam footage captured by a Michigan trooper showed the rescue of a 22-year-old woman trapped inside a burning car.

Officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident at the North Mission Road roundabout on Sunday, October 27th shortly before 10:00 p.m. local time. the police report says.

“Upon arrival, the police noticed a car on its side with flames coming out of the back,” the department reports.

That’s when one officer began smashing the windshield to try to grab the victim, according to the dash cam. The officer told the woman to be careful as he broke the glass and kicked the windshield as smoke and flames came from the car.

The woman’s leg eventually showed through the broken glass, as shown in the video, and officers were able to pull her to safety.

“After a few seconds, the car was completely engulfed in flames,” the police added.

According to the police, the 22-year-old woman was taken to the nearest hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries. There was no one else in the car with her.
