A Pennsylvania State Police corporal has been charged after authorities say he used his work computer to store thousands of pornographic images, including those created by artificial intelligence.

38-year-old Steven M. Kamnik, of Havertown, is charged with unauthorized use of a computer and misappropriation of trust property. to the press release from the General Prosecutor’s Office of the state.

Cammick was at Unit K in Schwenksville, Montgomery County, when his computer, which contained thousands of pornographic files, was seized.

The hard drive also had evidence that some of the pornographic media was created using software that made “dipfakes,” or artificial images and videos that use photos or videos of a real person.

Kamnick, who had been a state trooper since 2011, surrendered Wednesday and was arraigned on the charges. He is currently suspended without pay, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
