Elections BC is considering a complaint about the vote in the riding that gave the NDP a majority

The complaint, filed last Friday by British Columbia Conservative Honveer Singh Randhawa, is “pending,” Elections BC said.

Elections B.C. says it is looking into a vote-rigging complaint from a B.C. Conservative candidate who narrowly won the NDP, giving the government a one-seat majority in October’s provincial election.

It said the complaint was filed last Friday by British Columbia Conservative Honveer Singh Randhawa and is “pending.”

Elections BC announced the NDP’s Harry Begg as the winner of Surrey-Guildford by a 22-vote margin over Randhawa after a manual judicial recount.

British Conservative leader John Rustad and Randhawa are due to address a press conference this morning on “concerns surrounding the 2024 provincial election.”

The confirmation of victory for Prime Minister David Abe’s party came nearly three weeks after an October 19 election night failure to declare a majority.

Surrey-Guildford gave the NDP a near majority with 47 seats in the 93-seat legislature, with the BC Conservatives winning 44 and the Greens two.
