New Delhi:

The Election Commission on Thursday asked its Chief Electoral Officer in Delhi to look into the Aam Aadmi Party’s complaints against BJP leader Parvesh Verma and allegations of additions and deletions in the electoral roll of the New Delhi Assembly seat.

Hours after Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi led a delegation to the poll body, the Commission directed the Director General to investigate the complaint, ascertain the actual facts and take “immediate appropriate action” under the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct and Election Law.

“An action taken report will also be sent to the Commission,” the EC told his senior official in Delhi.

An AAP delegation met the Commission on Thursday to press charges of violation of the Model Code of Conduct against Verma, the BJP candidate from New Delhi.

They also raised allegations of additions and deletions in the electoral roll of the New Delhi Assembly constituency. The party delegation also submitted a copy of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s complaint against Verma to the Commission.
