Logansport police have made two arrests in unrelated intimidation cases

Last week, the Logansport Police Department arrested a woman on multiple charges of invasion of privacy and intimidation.

According to court records, on or about Oct. 18, Samantha Owens, 34, threatened a victim with a violent crime with the intent to cause another victim to fear that the threat would be carried out. She also communicated the threat to this other victim, the threat was also a violent crime, with the intent to cause them to fear that the threat would be carried out.

That same day, Owens knowingly violated a protective order to prevent domestic or family violence or harassment. In August 2024, Owens had already been convicted of invasion of privacy or stalking.

Superior Court I Cass charged Owens with two counts of intimidation and three counts of invasion of privacy, all felonies. According to court information, the three counts were upgraded to Level 6 felonies due to previous convictions for invasion of privacy that took place on August 13.

A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 16 at 9 a.m., a final preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 16, and a jury trial is set for Feb. 4 at 9 a.m.

The man is accused of intimidation

On or about Oct. 20, Matthew Tierney, 33, of Logansport, threatened a victim by drawing or using a deadly weapon with the intent to cause the victim to fear that the threat would be carried out, according to court records. information On the same day, he knowingly or intentionally touched the victim with a deadly weapon in a rude, impudent or malicious manner.

Tierney also knowingly or intentionally possessed marijuana, pure or adulterated, on the same day.

Cass Superior Court II charged Tierney with one count of intimidation and one count of battery with a deadly weapon, both felonies, and one count of possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

Bail is $2,000 cash or $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 12 at 10 a.m., a final preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 9 at 9 a.m., and a jury trial is scheduled for February 12 at 8:30 a.m.
