Winuski man pleads guilty to multiple child sex crimes

BURLINGTON, Vermont (WCAX) – A Vermont man charged with sex crimes could face life in prison.

David Hodgeon of Winooski was sentenced Monday to 17 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to multiple sex crimes. He was arrested in 2019 after three children he knew reported that he had sexually assaulted them.

Hojeon will be credited with time served, which is about 5 years, meaning he could be released in 2037. But that will only happen if the Vermont Department of Corrections deems him safe for release. Judge Kevin Griffin said he wasn’t sure that would happen.
