SAN JUAN COUNTY, UT (ABC4) — A San Juan County man has been arrested after police arrested him for allegedly downloading child sexual abuse material online in March of this year. According to police, he had a previous conviction for possession of child sexual abuse material in 2002.

John Kelly Black, 66, of San Juan County, was arrested earlier this week and now faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of minors. After his conviction in 2002, he was forced to register as a sex offender.

A woman has been arrested for trying to steal her mother’s car in Utah.

According to a probable cause affidavit from San Juan County obtained by ABC4.com, authorities searched Black’s home, where they had contact with Black. The social media account was reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), according to a probable cause statement. The account allegedly uploaded material about child sexual abuse to the platform.

After Black was read his Miranda warnings, he reportedly told police that he was the owner of the account that had been reported to NCMEC, as well as the email address associated with the account. He told police that he had received the pornographic material recently over the past few months and was unaware that the images were automatically uploaded to the platform.

Police say several electronic devices were seized from Black’s home while police were executing a search warrant. Law enforcement officers say that pornographic material with images of children was found on these devices.

Black was arrested by San Juan County authorities and booked into the San Juan County Jail on the above charges. He is currently being held without bail.

Allegations are just that. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
