The Lakers are off to a 3-0 start under their new head coach JJ Reddickand got the game off to a great start.

They jumped out to a commanding 26-8 lead and appeared to be on the cusp of a 4-0 start to the season for much of the evening, with an 83-76 advantage heading into the fourth.

But the Lakers couldn’t hang on, and Durant made back-to-back jumpers to give Phoenix a 105-101 lead with just over two minutes left.

Los Angeles was unable to regain control and instead of going 4-0, fell to 3-1.

Star player LeBron James had a particularly rough night, registering just 11 points.

He also got an earful from his coach in the second quarter.

James uncharacteristically picked up a shot clock violation, and Redick’s furious courtside reaction was captured NBA camera

“Shoot the damn ball,” he shouted to his stars.

The footage quickly went viral and many fans applauded Redick’s outburst.

“That’s why he’s a good coach. Don’t be afraid,” wrote one.

Redick showed similar passion in the locker room after the game, which was the first official loss of his coaching career.

“I’ll have to go look, but it seemed like in some ways we lost to Kevin Durant and Booker in the ability to make tough twos,” he admitted.

“If there’s anything to complain about, it’s probably me.

“I probably should have tackled KD a few times earlier, but I liked our defensive group. I trust these guys.

“The other thing I’ll say is we should never have a 14-point quarter. That’s on me too. I’ve got to make sure we’re doing well offensively.”

The Lakers have a chance to bounce back against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
