Michelle Obama and A-list celebrities are pushing Gen Z to vote

Female celebrities from television, film and music performed at a get-out-the-vote rally in Pd Atlanta a week before Election Day with a unique message to the mostly Gen Z audience to vote no matter what.

Grammy Award-winning artists Ciara, Kelly Rowland and Victoria Monae, along with actresses Kerry Washington and Marsai Martin, wowed several thousand rally-goers at the When We All Vote event in College Park on Tuesday night.

2024 ELECTION UPDATE: THE LATEST ON THE TRUMP-HARRIS PRESIDENTIAL RACE

Former First Lady Michelle Obama founded a nonpartisan organization that aims to empower all voters, including first-time voters.

“Our goal is not to tell people who to vote for, but to encourage people to register, to give them the information they need to vote, and to make sure that they have — that they vote every election, every election , not just the presidential election,” Obama said.

R&B and hip-hop artists hit the stage before Obama’s speech at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park.

“Starting right now, you should do everything you can to highlight any candidates and issues you care about,” Ciara said. “That means we need to make a plan. We need to decide whether we go to the polls during early voting this week or whether we vote next Tuesday, on Election Day itself.”

Mone urged members of Generation Z to vote, if not for themselves, then for the next generation, adding that “birthright” should not be taken for granted.

Washington applauded organizers in the Peach State as the best organizers in the country.

“The heritage of this state is so fantastic. Did you know that even to this day, your state of Georgia is a model of what a good organization looks like?” Washington said. “People from all over the country are looking to Georgia to find out what tools and methods really work to get out the vote.”

Former President Donald Trump is the Republican presidential nominee running against Vice President Kamala Harris on November 5.
