Sandeep Dikshit files complaint against AAP’s women’s scheme

Congress candidates from New Delhi constituency and former MP Sandeep Dikshit have filed a complaint against AAP’s Mahila Samman Yojana, alleging that the party is running a scam on Delhiites. The son of three-time Congress chief minister Sheila Dikshit also alleged that the AAP government in Punjab had sent plainclothes policemen to Delhi to collect “election information”, which amounted to espionage. The Congress leader said that two Punjab policemen were seen near his house recently, confirming the alleged misuse of the Punjab government machinery in Delhi.

In the complaint filed by Dikshit, he alleged that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers were collecting phone numbers and addresses of women, forcing them to fill forms for a scheme that did not exist.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal have announced that the ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ is already working in the city, but it is not, Dikshit said.

“I want fraud cases to be registered against Kejriwal and the Chief Minister. Data collected from women should be confiscated and returned to each of them. The personal details of women can even be misused,” he said, sharing plans to submit a written complaint to Lt. Governor Saxony.

“Any political party can promise anything. If they said they would give 2100 rupees if they won the election, there would be no question. But they said there is a Rs 1000 scheme and they will convert it to Rs. 2100. And they make you (women) fill up forms for the scheme,” said Dikshit.

“We are saying that if it is a case of fraud, it should be investigated and a case should be registered against the two persons — Atisha and Kejriwal — who have perpetrated this fraud. All AAP workers should be stopped (from gathering information) and the Delhi Police should ensure that this does not happen in future,” Dikshit added.

A Delhi government department on Wednesday said no such scheme exists. The data being collected for the scheme is a case of fraud, he said, adding that they are collecting phone numbers and addresses of women.

The Delhi government’s women and child development and health departments issued public notices on Wednesday distancing themselves from the ruling AAP’s promised schemes of Rs 2,100 for women and free medical treatment for the elderly, sparking a fresh row ahead of general elections.

Both departments also warned people against providing personal details to anyone under the pretense of registering with “non-existent” schemes, saying any private individual or political party collecting such physical forms or information is “fraudulent and without any authority “.
