Buckeye school resource officer arrested on domestic violence charge

BUCKAY, AZ (Family AZ) — Buckeye police say a Verrado High School officer has been arrested on a charge of domestic violence.

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, the department said the charges against Officer David Ellison stem from an incident involving a family member, but did not provide further details about the investigation by the Goodyear Police Department.

Ellison has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

According to A., the officer was previously awarded for services to the school News release outside the city of Bakai 2022. He was inducted into the first Agua Fria Union High School Hall of Fame, officials said at the time.

“Police officers, especially those responsible for the safety and well-being of students, must be held to the highest standards. The Buckeye Police Department is committed to transparency throughout this process,” Buckeye police spokeswoman Karissa Planalp said in a prepared statement.
