An elderly man who died in an accident between a car and a minibus near Gretna has been named

The police named the elderly man who died in a collision between a car and a minibus.

Emergency services were called to the A75 in Gretna at around 11.10am on December 16 following reports of a collision involving a black Peugeot 3008 and a white Ford Transit van.

Jackson Pringle, who was driving the Peugeot, was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital with serious injuries. The next day, the 83-year-old man died.

Three other men aged 77, 60 and 31 were also taken to hospital as a precaution.

Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Pringle’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

“Our investigations are ongoing and we appeal to anyone who witnessed the accident to contact us.

“In particular, if you were driving in the area at the time, please check the dash cam to see if you caught anything that could assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland 101 citation incident 1097 from December 16.
