Posing as RAW agent, Agra gym trainer rapes Canadian woman he met on Tinder | Shocking details

The situation became even more terrifying for the woman when the accused’s friend also “raped her in the hotel bathroom” and she recently found out that she was “pregnant”.

A gym trainer from Agra met a Canadian woman through the dating app Tinder, introduced himself as a RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent and then began sexually exploiting her. The situation became even more terrifying for the woman when the accused’s friend also “raped her in the bathroom of the hotel” and recently she found out that she was “pregnant”.

The accused, Sahil Sharma, was booked by the Uttar Pradesh police for “rape” and “criminal intimidation”. “Based on a complaint received, an FIR was registered against a gym trainer and his friend for sexually assaulting a Canadian woman of Indian origin. The appellant was taken to the Magistrate to record her statement. Measures are being taken to arrest the suspects who are hiding,” the message reads Times of India Agra City DCP Suraj Rai was quoted.

An FIR was registered under BNS sections 64 (rape), 123 (causing bodily harm by poison), 351 (2) (criminal intimidation), 74 (assault or use of criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and section 67 of the Act about IT.

Sequence of events

• According to Superintendent of Police Sikandra Neeraj Sharma, accused Sahil befriended an NRI woman, believed to be in her 20s, on Tinder.

• He then met her at an Agra hotel in March 2024 and allegedly mixed intoxicants in her drink.

• Sahil allegedly sexually assaulted her after she passed out.

• According to TOIthe woman, after regaining consciousness, claimed that the man told her he was a RAW agent and threatened her. He also talked about their marriage.

• The accused contacted the woman again after she returned to Canada and repeatedly reminded her that he was “working for RAW”.

• He allegedly invited her back to India in August, claiming he wanted to introduce her to his mother.

• According to the publication, when the woman came to India, she claimed that he raped her several times in Agra and Delhi.

• In her complaint, the woman said the accused later introduced her to his friend Arif Ali, who “raped her in a hotel bathroom”.

• The TOI The report said that the NRI woman recently found out that she was “pregnant” and approached the gym trainer who “again threatened her and posted her private pictures on the internet”.
