A Wayne woman has pleaded not guilty to charges related to a friend’s fatal fall from a car

SOUTHFIELD, Michigan. A 24-year-old Wayne woman pleaded no contest Monday to charges related to the death of her friend last year. according to Fox 2 Detroit. Kentia Fern pleaded guilty to charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and operating while intoxicated in connection with the June 3, 2023, incident.

Fern is accused of leaving the scene after her friend, 23-year-old Mia Kanu, fell from the vehicle Fern was driving. They were driving on Providence Drive after a party when Kanu fell out of the car. Fern did not stop and report the incident to the police, leaving Kana on the road.
