Police are asking the public for surveillance footage in Putnam Valley following a shooting in Somers

On Tuesday, the police asked for help from the public during the search for Fernando Jimenez, the suspect in Somers’ murder.

New York State Police say Jimenez shot three people, including two children, at an apartment in Somers around 11:35 p.m. Monday and fled the scene.

As of 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, police have not released the identities of the victims or other details about the shooting, but confirmed that one victim died.

Police asked Putnam Valley residents in the Peekskill Hollow Road area to check their home video or surveillance cameras for possible sightings of the suspect.
