Drugs, weapons seized after alleged drone crash at Milhaven Institution – Kingston News

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) seized a package of contraband and contraband at Millhaven Institution, located west of Kingston.

According to a release from the federal corrections agency, the package was seized Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, in a suspected drone crash at the maximum security prison and was discovered as a result of “staff vigilance.” members”.

Items seized included tobacco, crystal methamphetamine, a cold weapon (such as a blade or knife), and a cell phone and cell phone accessories. According to the release, the total estimated institutional value of this withdrawal is $196,400. (The institutional value refers to how much the items are worth if sold within the federal penitentiary system.)

“The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has increased measures to prevent contraband and contraband from entering its facilities to help ensure a safe and secure environment for all,” the federal agency said.

“CSC is also working with the police to take action against those attempting to bring contraband or illicit items into correctional facilities.”
