A South Morang man has been charged with murder following the death of Nikkita Azzopardi

Homicide detectives have charged a 33-year-old man after a woman was found dead in Melbourne’s north-east on Monday morning.

The body of Nikkita Azzopardi, 35, was discovered by family members at a home in Reid Street, South Morang, emergency services were called to at around 10am yesterday.

Investigators charged a South Morang man with one count of murder Tuesday afternoon.

Ms Azzopardi’s brother Sean yesterday remembered his sister as a gentle soul and a great listener who would help anyone.

“She didn’t see the bad in people, she always saw the good,” he said.

The man accused of her death is due to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow.
