Netflix has launched a new mobile feature called Moments that allows subscribers to save and share their favorite scenes. It is currently available for iOS and will be coming to Android devices soon.

Netflix Moments allows users to save their favorite scenes from shows and movies and share them with others. Scenes can be shared with friends and family on social networks such as Instagram and Facebook. Netflix confirmed Instructions for geeks that a Moment is just a timestamp of a saved scene and still requires the Netflix app and a valid subscription to view it.

To use Moments, users simply tap the Moments icon in the lower left corner of the screen while watching a show or movie. This will automatically save the current scene to your My Netflix tab. It saves about five seconds, and it saves five seconds before the caller clicked the “Moment” button. So, users have to click the button at the end of the clip they want to save.

Once saved, subscribers can view their saved moments at any time or share them with others. It’s very similar how YouTube Clips worksbut it doesn’t seem to have as much control over the length. You can also use this feature just to save scenes to replay later.

Netflix said in its announcement: “Whether you’re watching an intense BEEF final showdown or a spooky twist on Wednesday, Moments lets you save and share it all. With Season 2 of The Squid Game coming out on December 26, it’s the perfect time to relive these exciting gameplay sequences from Season 1 and get ready for what’s to come.”

Netflix Moments is now available on iPhone and iPad, and will be coming to Android devices in the coming weeks. The company did not say when it might be available to people watching Netflix on desktop computers.
