Driver Central Pa. died in the car, but not because of the accident

A 77-year-old man whose body was found Thursday behind the wheel of his car on a remote Lancaster County road was not killed in the crash, authorities said.

Instead, an autopsy found that Ronald Book, of Elizabethtown, died of a heart attack while driving through the 700 block of Bellaire Road in Mount Joy Township, the coroner’s office said Tuesday.

Buck’s car was found with minimal damage in a rocky area along Bellaire Road. According to the coroner, no injuries were found on his body. He died at the scene at 1:48 p.m

During an autopsy Friday, the coroner determined that Book died of natural causes rather than injuries related to the crash.
