Brothers held for beating financier’s head with a brick during a drunken argument

The Delhi Police arrested two people for smashing the head of a man with a brick in the wee hours of Monday in Dwarka area.

According to the police, on Monday at around 12:26 am, a PCR call was received at Dwarka South police station in which it was mentioned that, “My husband has been beaten with a brick and he is unconscious”.

The injured has been identified as Jai Prakash Yadav, resident of Sector 18 Dwarka, Pink City Apartments, who is a private financier and provides cash finance to e-Rickshaws.

He had financed Rs 1 lakhs to Bunty alias Shakti Soni and Rs 35,000 to Prem Soni. Both are brothers and residents of Bagdola Village Sector 8, Dwarka.

DCP Dwarka Ankit Singh said, “The injured were drinking with the two brothers at Metro Station, Gate No. 1, Sector 9, Dwarka and some argument ensued among them.

The injured started beating the alleged persons with a belt after which, the alleged persons pushed him in the scuffle and the injured fell down on the road and sustained some injuries.”

Further, the brothers started beating the injured with a piece of brick lying on the road and with one piece of wooden stick in which Bunty smashed the head with a brick and Prem Soni with a stick.

“The accused then came to the police station with some injuries and stated that they had been beaten by Jai Prakash Yadav. Medical examination of both was conducted at Indira Gandhi Hospital,” Singh added.

In the meantime, a PCR call was received, which was made by the wife of the injured, who was with one Bhola Ram. “Bhola Ram informed the injured wife and she took him to Vekateshwar Hospital. The injured is unconscious and is having serious head injury,” another police officer said, adding that he has been beaten with intention to murder him, hence a case under section 109, 351(2), 3(5) of BNS has been registered .

“The alleged persons Shakti Soni and Prem Soni have been arrested in the case. The scene of crime was inspected by FSL and exhibits were collected, further investigation is in progress,” the DCP stated.
