The footage, first uploaded by a verified game account to Chinese video sharing site Bilibili, contains short snippets of gameplay Final Fantasy 14 MobileThe nine starting jobs—Warrior, Paladin, Bard, Black Mage, Summoner, Monk, Dragoon, Scholar, and White Mage—do some basic combat against random mobs. Although the adventurers are clearly low level, at least compared to the characters people use Final Fantasy 14 these days, the user interface looks as clean and concise as a touchscreen-based game. Eagle-eyed players may even notice a few unique animations.

Final Fantasy 14 Mobile is being developed by LightSpeed ​​​​Studios, a subsidiary of the Chinese conglomerate Tencent Holdings, previously known for its work on PUBG Mobile. Final Fantasy 14 produced by Naoki Yoshida introduced the game in November 2024explaining that the mobile version will be optimized for more casual games traditional to the platform.
