HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Conway man is accused of leading police on a motorcycle chase within Myrtle Beach city limits.
Horry County troopers attempted to pull over 31-year-old Tyler Jackson on his motorcycle for speeding in the area of Robert Grissom Parkway and Pine Island Road on Friday night, according to a police report.
Jackson refused to stop and led them on a chase into the town of Myrtle Beach and down a dirt road, police said.
The suspect lost control of the motorcycle and crashed, but escaped.
A K9 was used to help officers locate Jackson, according to the report.
Jackson was found in the woods lying in a ditch, police said.
Officers arrested Jackson and charged him with failure to stop for a blue light and drug possession.
He is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $55,000 bond.
