Sara Duterte has filed a new impeachment complaint

Another impeachment complaint was filed against Vice President Sara Duterte in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

More than 70 people from various sectors have filed a second impeachment complaint against Duterte.

In their complaint, they alleged that Duterte betrayed the public trust by “abusing discretionary powers” over confidential funds, neglecting transparency and accountability, and dereliction of duty by willfully refusing to acknowledge congressional oversight during budget deliberations.

“The betrayal of public trust, evident in the defendant’s actions, is a fundamental violation of the agreement between a public servant and a citizen — a violation so serious that it can only be remedied by her removal from office through impeachment with a penalty of permanent deprivation of the right to hold public office. “, the complaint states.

“It is time to end the regime of fiscal impunity that has plagued the Office of the Vice President since 2022,” it added.

This comes two days after human rights groups filed a statement impeachment complaint vs. Duterte, December 2, Monday.

Meanwhile, two lawmakers said the House would consider an impeachment complaint over her constitutional mandate.
